Academic and Professional Advising

I have provided bespoke support for students and job applicants since 2010, and am regularly featured as an invited speaker in four countries to give talks about my advice on various aspects of application processes. I have a strong understanding of US/UK admissions and in-depth knowledge of standardized testing. Additionally, I support students in crafting a personal narrative for university applications, creating a dynamic extracurricular portfolio, and succeeding on SAT, ACT, TOEFL, and other tests. I have a proven track record of increasing my students’ scores and helping them achieve admission to the world's leading universities, including Stanford, Yale, Princeton, Duke, and many more. I offer a wide variety of services:
  • US and UK university admissions and advising consultation
  • Crafting a compelling personal statement
  • Undergraduate, graduate, and fellowship application mentoring
  • Preparation for standardized tests (ACT, SAT, SAT Subject Tests, TOEFL, IELTS, IGSCE, ISEE, and more)
  • Extracurricular and leadership development
  • Cover letter and resume editing
  • Portfolio/audition preparation for arts programs
  • Interview coaching
  • Academic subject tutoring (writing, math, speech and debate, and more)
  • Logo and letterhead design
I am currently employed by Crimson Education as a Senior Tutor, Application Mentor, and Extracurricular and Leadership Consultant, and have worked with students in fifteen countries in these capacities. I also teach group classes and give public presentations on related subjects, such as building a strong extracurricular profile for US university admissions.

Music Teaching

In addition to actively performing as a violinist, I offer individual lessons and group coaching. I have been a faculty member of the Austin Chamber Music Center since 2016, and also run a private studio for violin students of all ages and ability levels. My teaching method is rooted in the Suzuki Method. I have taught students all over the world (Austin, London, Istanbul, Xi'an, and Hong Kong) ages 4 through 82—I have even taught in Mandarin Chinese! Music is an incredible form of global communication, and the process of learning to play the violin fosters creativity, discipline, and self-expression. It's also social and fun! I absolutely enjoy teaching music and am eager to nurture that passion in others.

"That was the best lesson I've ever had!" - former student

Please don't hesitate to get in touch. I look forward to hearing from you.
